KIA coach Chris Gavina lamented that it’s the locals this time whose contribution left something to be desired after he finally had some satisfaction in import Markeith Cummings’ play in their 94-85 loss to Rain or Shine in the PBA Governors’ Cup on Sunday night.
Submitting sub-par showing in their last two games, Cummings responded to his coach's challenge as he registered 30 points, including 17 in the payoff period where he led a Picanto comeback that fell short.
RAIN or Shine showed flashes of chemistry with its rejigged lineup as it got back on track and added to the misery of Kia with a 94-86 decision in the PBA Governors’ Cup on Sunday night at the Mall of Asia Arena.

J’Nathan Bullock put up a solid debut with 20 points, 10 boards, two blocks, and two steals that negated his seven turnovers and few other questionable decisions, while Chris Tiu proved to be the glue guy for the transitioning team as he chipped in 13 points, eight assists, five boards, and one steal, against only one turnover in almost 31 minutes off the bench.
Local newcomers Mark Borboran and Ed Daquioag also fared decently in their first game for the E-Painters, who kept the Picanto winless in six games.
