There are few scenarios in the PBA that after a player received a prestigious award like the Best Player of the Conference or Best Import it doesn’t end well for the recipient.
That was exactly what happened to Chris Ross and Charles Rhodes in Game 4 of the 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals.
Ross who was consistent with his 16 points and 8 assists average in the first three Finals outings went struggling with only 8 points and 4 assists.

Actually, coach Nash Racela used those awards to motivate his team and the result was great for the KaTropa.
“After they got their awards, I huddled the team. I told the guys let them get the individual awards, but let’s get the team award,” said Racela.
Jayson Castro, Troy Rosario, RR Pogoy and Ranidel de Ocampo were the players who was seen that really took the challenge of their coach. Especially Pogoy who was scoreless in Game 2 and Game 3 after a superb performance in Game 1.
