Phoenix Fuel defeated Globalport (replay) result, recap – May 05, 2017

Facing a Batang Pier team that they stunned after coming back from 26 points down in the Philippine Cup, the Fuel Masters did the same on Friday, turning it around in the second half to coast to a 84-72 victory and bolster their playoff hopes in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

The Fuel Masters overcame an early 15-point deficit, getting motivation from a halftime tongue-lashing from coach Ariel

RJ Jazul bounced back from a disappointing performance against Meralco while Jameel Mckay again anchored the middle with another 20-20 effort as the Fuel Masters improved to a 4-5 win-loss record stay in eighth spot, while keeping the Batang Pier behind them at ninth spot at 2-6.

Lanete scored all his six points in the second half, the last two on a breakaway layup off his steal from Mike Cortez that gave the Fuel Masters their biggest lead at 78-65 – completing a 28-point turnaround.
