A strong start and even stronger performance down the stretch gave Phoenix a 94-86 victory over the injury-stricken Alaska Aces in the 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup on Friday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

Jameel McKay brought the house down plenty of times with his dunks as he had his best game, firing away 42 points and grabbing 22 rebounds on top 2 blocks and 2 steals in 44 minutes.
Veteran snipers Cyrus Baguio and RJ Jazul chipped in 12 and 10 points, respectively, and combined for 9 boards, 10 assists, 2 blocks and 2 steals as they helped Phoenix end its two-game misery while handing their former team its second straight defeat.
The Aces joined Star Hotshots and Rain or Shine in the middle pack with 4 wins and two losses while the Fuel Masters have slightly improved at 3-4.
