TNT KaTropa’s balanced effort trumped GlobalPort’s two-man game as it rolled to a 109-101 victory on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena to gain the upper hand in their PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinal series.
Jayson Castro continued to thrive in a reserve role, tallying 20 points, four boards, one assist, and one steal in 24 minutes, while getting plenty of help from Larry Fonacier and Mo Tautuaa, among others as they took Game One of the best-of-three series.
Terrence Romeo pumped in 28 points, eight assists and five boards in 40 minutes, while Stan Pringle added 19 markers, but the duo got little contribution from the rest of the Batang Pier.

Game playoffs stands, Phoenix, Purefoods Star Hotshots ‘bida kontra bida’ only 1 team will remain to fight again to quarter round 2017 all Filipino Cup Saturday afternoon.
Recap:
The Hotshots sustained their dominance in the PBA and over Phoenix as it coasted to a 114-83 victory at the Mall of Asia Arena to move on the verge of securing semifinal spot in the PBA Philippine Cup.
Winning their last three games by an average margin of 38.3 points, the Hotshots coasted to another blowout win, turning it up a notch in the second half to embarrass the Fuel Masters in Game One of their best-of-three quarterfinal series.
It was the same Fuel Masters team the Hotshots handed a 44-point beating in their elimination-round meeting. And they can finish them off in Game Two on Monday at the Big Dome.
