GLOBALPORT turned to its dynamic duo as it cruised past Rain or Shine, 117-99, on Sunday night at the Cuneta Astrodome to clinch a playoff berth in the PBA Philippine Cup.
Terrence Romeo erupted for a career-high 44 points highlighted by eight triples in 37 minutes while Stanley Pringle added 28 points, six boards, and four assists as the Batang Pier turned a close game into a blowout in the second half.
JR Quinahan was the third player in twin digits for the Batang Pier with 11 points on top of three boards, two steals, one block, and one steal as he turned into a villain against his former team.
As a result, the Batang Pier finished its elimination-round campaign with a 6-5 win-loss record, while handing the Elasto Painters their third straight loss and fifth overall in 10 games, leaving them in a must-win situation in their last game to avoid playoff complications.
