PJ Simon showed the way for the Hotshots with 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting in 21 minutes, while also coming through on the end with a motivated defensive job against longtime teammate Yap.

Lee, who played his first five years in the league with RoS, registered half of his 14 points in the payoff period, including a catch-and-shoot three-pointer off a screen curl that gave the Hotshots a 93-88 lead.

RJ Jazul and Calvin Abueva led four players who scored in double figures for the Aces, who registered their third straight win after starting the season with two losses, while handing the Gin Kings their third loss in five games.

Kevin Ferrer emerged as the lone bright spot for the Gin Kings, scoring in double digits for the second straight game as the rookie forward ended up with a game-high 19 points built around five three-pointers, along with four boards in 30 minutes off the bench.

Japeth Aguilar, coming in as the Gin Kings’ scoring leader, was held to just 12 points and three rebounds in 22 minutes.
