The league will continue to use the three-conference format, starting with the Philippine Cup.
The Commissioner’s Cup and the Governors’ Cup are the second and third conferences in the upcoming season.
This season will also be the first season of Chito Narvasa as the PBA commissioner Chito Salud announced his resignation at the end of the 2014–15 season.
Salud, however, will remain with the PBA as he will be the new President and CEO of the league.
The first event of the season was the 2015 PBA draft which was held on August 23.

The Aces went on a 16-0 run in the fourth quarter to turn a six-point deficit into a double-digit lead but still needed some big plays down the stretch to escape with the win.

Hodge led the Bolts back in the final period, where he scored 16 points, including a big three-pointer just inside the final minute that knotted the score up at 81-all.

With the Aces up by two points with about 10 seconds remaining, Chris Banchero earned a trip to the free throw line.
