The Cleveland Cavaliers will be heading to the City of Brotherly Love Thursday to take on the Philadelphia 76ers at Wells Fargo Center for both team's second preseason game this 2015.
Unfortunately for fans who are expecting to see LeBron James play for the Cavs, the four-time Most Valuable Player (MVP) is expected to rest, according to a report by Cincinnati.com.
Before the game against Philadelphia, Cleveland will be playing against the Atlanta Hawks Wednesday for their first preseason outing this 2015.
Above mentioned in their report that James would want to play versus the Hawks for the fans, since the game will be held in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Because of his inevitable participation in the Atlanta game, James might be having a rest day Thursday, as he said, following a team scrimmage last Monday.
Notable players who will likely be getting heavy minutes against Philly are offseason acquisitions Russian center Sasha Kaun and veterans Mo Williams and Richard Jefferson.
With All-Star Kyrie Irving still recovering from injury, Williams will likely be filling in together with last season's surprise performer Matthew Dellavedova, while Jefferson is expected to step up without James.
Meanwhile Kaun, will be protecting the rim alongside returning big men Anderson Varejao and Timofey Mozgov who faced injuries last season.
The 76ers, on the other hand, are coming off a loss in their first preseason game Tuesday against the Washington Wizards who handed them a 129–95 drubbing.
Leading Philadelphia were center Nerlens Noel and guard Isaiah Canaan who both scored 13 points each.
Despite the defeat, it seemed like the 76ers are heading towards the right direction in their rebuilding phase as 2015 third-overall pick center Jahlil Okafor had a fine showing despite only playing 17 minutes.
The former Duke Blue Devil tallied 12 points, two rebounds, one steal, and two blocks.
