Talk 'N Text Vs Alaska Aces May 18, 2015 - PBA Governor's Cup 2015

Talk 'N Text Vs Alaska Aces May 18, 2015 - PBA Governor's Cup 2015 Red-hot Alaska Milk shoots for a fourth straight win and the solo lead when it squares off with Commissioner’s Cup titlist Talk n Text in a rare Governors CupMonday bill at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo – the last game before the PBA brings the show over in Dubai.

The Aces and the Tropang Texters clash at 7 p.m. with the former looking to stretch their searing winning streak to four games since being swept by the Purefoods Star Hotshots in their best-of-three quarterfinals series last conference.

Alaska’s struggle last conference was also marked by a 93-101 defeat at the hands of Talk n Text. But the Aces are back in great groove, one of two remaining unbeaten teams in the season-ending tourney with victories over the Blackwater Elite (106-80), the Barangay Ginebra Kings (108-99) and the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters (94-93).

Coach Alex Compton’s troops are in great form, showing good blending with hardworking import Romeo Travis. Talk n Text, meanwhile, split its first two games with a lineup crippled by injuries to Ranidel de Ocampo, Jayson Castro, Kevin Alas, Aaron Aban and Ryan Reyes.

The Texters topped the Gin Kings, 95-91, in a duel of shorthanded teams then dropped an 87-100 loss to the Barako Bull Energy Cola and their towering import Liam McMorrow. TNT coach Jong

Uichico said they will just continue to find a way to win with the lineup that they have right now. Against Barako, the Texters just couldn’t stop 7-foot-2 McMorrow. The Energy Cola lorded it over boards, 63-54, and battered the Texters, 52-30, on points inside the paint.

Steffphon Pettigrew, standing a little under 6-foot-5, struggled with an 8-of-16 clip for 23 markers versus McMorrow. Jordanian star Sam Daghles failed to provide the spark from the backcourt, having gone 1-of-14 from the field before producing eight points in the closing minutes to finish with a near triple-double game with 10 markers, 11 rebounds and seven assists.

Uichico is hopeful they can match up well with the Aces. But Alaska has been steady scoring W’s on a well-balanced game. Travis averages 25 points and 13.67, and is getting all the needed support from the local crew.

RJ Jazul is on the rise, leading the locals with an average of 10.33 points. The former Letran stalwart also norms 1.67 rebounds and the same number of assists.
