The Aces are coming off a great win over Blackwater. They completely dominated that game, thanks to a well-balanced attack. Against a deep and slightly retooled team like GIN, ALA will need that same kind of production again.
GIN made the headlines recently by trading Joseph Yeo for Sol Mercado. Mercado joins a loaded GIN PG corps, which already has Gilas playmaker LA Tenorio and quality back-ups like Josh Urbiztondo and Emman Monfort. It’s going to be very interesting to see how coach Frankie Lim spreads the minutes in his debut as a PBA head coach.

"It's really tough for Ginebra if they're missing Aguilar and Slaughter and Ellis," Compton added. "They're gonna be a scary team this conference; they're gonna be tough. It's just unfortunate they're unhealthy today."Ginebra played catch up the whole game after the Aces surprised them with a 14-0 run to start the contest. At the end of the first, the Aces were up comfortably, 29-12. Ginebra got to trim the lead in the second, outscoring the Aces 33-25 to end the half. A Mark Caguioa conversion trimmed the lead to nine, 54-45, heading into the break.
The Barangay got it going in the third, as Sol Mercado and Jayjay Helterbrand slashed the lead to five with 1:26 remaining, 79-74. A Johnson split trimmed the lead to just four, but Cyrus Baguio converted on charities at the other end for some breathing room at the end of the third, 81-75.
The Aces had enough to take the victory in the fourth, with an active Travis pushing the lead back to double digits. A split from Dondon Hontiveros pushed the lead back up to 15 with three and a half remaining, dashing any hopes of a Ginebra comeback.
